What we believe
- The Bible is the infallible Word of God. (II Timothy 3:16)
- Without Christ, all of us are fallen and separated from God. (Romans 5:12-19)
- God loved us even in our sin, and sent His son, Jesus, to redeem us. (John 3:16)
- Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. The Scriptures declare: His virgin birth (Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:31, 35); His sinless life (Hebrews 7:26; I Peter 2:22); His miracles (Acts 2:22; 10:38); His substitutionary work in the cross (I Cor. 15:3; 2 Cor. 5:21); His bodily resurrection from the dead (Matthew 28:6; Luke 24:39; I Cor. 15:4); and His seating at God's right hand (Acts 1:9-11; 2:33; Philippians 2:9-11; Hebrews 1-3).
- We can be saved (spiritually "born again") through faith in Christ. The Scriptures declare: All have sinned, and come short of God's standards (Romans 3:23); the punishment for sin is death, eternal separation from God (Romans 6:23); Jesus took our punishment, and gave Himself for us (I Cor. 15:3; Galatians 2:20); we must believe in Jesus and confess our faith in Him to be saved (Romans 10:9); Salvation is a free gift, by grace through faith, not something we earn (Eph. 2:8); whosoever asks Jesus will be saved (Acts 2:21, Romans 10:13); this plan of salvation is also called "the Gospel" or good news! (Mark 1:1)
- Jesus established "the church" (which includes all churches who preach the Gospel) based on the divine revelation that Jesus is the Son of God. (Matthew 16:15-17)
- As individual believers and as part of the church, we are instructed by Jesus to "go into all the world and preach the Gospel." (Mark 16:15)
- After Jesus ascended to Heaven, the Holy Spirit was sent to the church to give us power and boldness as we share the Gospel. (John 14:16; Luke 24:49)
